D-line
Notes: Default Motor Configuration
D-line motor naming conventions differ somewhat from the rest of CHESS. Please check the link for a scheme and the current spec configuration.
As D-line runs in many configurations, but has only 16 channels
of
motor control available (at best), it makes more sense to program a
flexible interface into spec, rather than attempting to run in a static
configuration. This is done by chosing suggestive names for the various
functions of xz stages, goniometers, etc., saving their parameters in
the config file, but only assign actual motor channels to the motors
that are used in a specific experiment.
Basic Motors
Optical
Tables
The incident beam optical
table (see link) and the detector optical table are controled by GALIL
controllers via private ethernet. Each table comprises six
jacks uxu,uxd,uyt,uzu,uzdf,uzfr (u=upstream, d=downstream, f=front,
r=rear) (positions: wujacks) which are combined into three overall translations uxt, uyt, uzt
and three overal roatations upitch,uroll,uyaw
by employing the macromotor feature of spec (use wut to see the positions). Additionally the motor group uxu, uzu, uxd, uzd can be used to line up each table with a pinhole (wupin). For the downstream detector table replace the first u in the motorname with d.
Slit System
The ADC slit system in the hutch is run on a serial line
independent of the rest of the motor control system. Although both physical and
macromotors (for gap and offset) are configured, I have found it to be more reliable to move one blade at a time.
- NOTE: Various important motor parameters enter the config file as
generic motor
parameters (see link).
Sample
stages
- xz stage plus goniometer: samx, samz, samth,
samtilt/samaz (D1
GISAXS
stage)
- xz stage: sx, sz
- large sample scanner (Woll): scanx, scany, scanz
Flightpath,
beamstop, detector
- xz stage for fligh path: fpx, fpz
- xz stage for beamstop: bsx, bsz
- xz stage for detector: detx, detz
Capillary
set-up
The new capillary setup for microSAXS and microGIWAXS uses the micropositioning table shared with the glass puller group.
(More info to be added soon.)
Special Motors
For some recurring experiments, some special motor channels have been
reserved. Presently predefined motor settings exist for
- SAXS/GISAXS (configured as Basic Motors) - spec version
saxs (see
below)
- fluorescence imaging (configured as Basic Motors) - spec version
image (see
below)
- radiography - spec version radio (see
below)
